The first quarter of a new school year is almost finished, and though we look different (we're now grades 2, 3, and 4), the Stargazers are as enthusiastic and hardworking as ever!
We have learned about weather and climate, written personal narratives, and rediscovered the ever-awesome Piano Guys.

2017-2018 School Year
June 5, 2018: The Stargazers had an exciting time at the Fort at Number 4 on Friday! It was a wonderful field trip to end a great year with!

May 7, 2018: Our state-selected assessments are in full swing! We have another week of math testing to go, so please make sure your student(s) gets plenty of sleep and eats a good breakfast.
April 3, 2018: This quarter in science, we have been learning about rock layers and the earth. We made
models of rock layers and used sand, rice, and charcoal to model sandstone, limestone, and basalt layers (this update brought to you by Brody and Jessica).
During writing we've been writing our own opinion essays. We used Mrs. Mayo's essay structure boot camp to help us make our essays. Check out our writing page to read them (this update brought to you by Mataya and Olivia).
In math we have been learning about rounding numbers to the nearest ten or hundred (for third grade) and to the nearest thousand and even ten thousand (for fourth grade). We also made 1,000 charts and are using them to learn more about tens and hundreds (this update brought to you by Kelton, Evie, and Ari).
Today we did Jump Rope for Heart in P.E. We are donating money to the Heart Association to help people who have heart problems. Thank you to everyone who sponsored someone (this update brought to you by Matthew and Maya).
